Goliad lodge is fortunate to be one of the few lodges in Texas to have an annual visit by Grand Lodge Officers . However, this is not just any visit. This includes the opening of a representation of The Grand Lodge of Texas in our lodge for an official ceremony in order to pay respects for Col. Fannin, his troops and civilians massacred prior to Texas gaining its independence. After, lodge is formally closed, we share a meal and fellowship with Brothers from all over Texas. As Goliad's sister Lodge, many of our dual members participate as well as other District 36 Masons.

An interesting fact: All of The Texas Presidents and Vice Presidents were Masons, as well as Eighty Percent of the State Representatives! Just like Lamar was the Father of Texas Public Education, Our Democracy was founded on and built upon the tenants of Freemasonry.
